More About Us
Chitterley Business Centre is a family run estate which started in 1991. We realised that there was a growing demand for rural offices and workshops, and were one of the first in the South West to develop redundant farm buildings.
We can confidently supply a professional, yet friendly service, and as we live on the site, we do genuinely care about our tenants being contented, as we see them every day.

Victorian Courtyard

This is where we initiated the idea originally, as we could see huge potential with this complex. When we moved here in 1985, the courtyard was to the point, of almost beyond repair. Over the next few years, we lovingly restored this unique set of buildings to their former glory. This tranquil setting was originally built from stone and slate. The stone was sourced from the adjoining field and the sand from the River Exe.

Developing the Estate
The first offices and workshops stemmed from the Victorian courtyard to some further outbuildings, that were previously part of the farm. Over the last twenty years, we have gradually transformed these buildings one by one, and can pride ourselves on the quality. We now offer contemporary units, as well as the courtyard, ranging from 300sqft - 1500sqft, to cater for thriving businesses. We have played host to a diverse range of companies from local family run firms, to large multi-national corporations.
Features
The workspaces are well insulated and double glazed. Some have mezzanine floors and they’re all smartly decorated. Water is from a natural spring. There is also extensive parking for tenants and visitors, and the major bonus, of a congestion free commute. Each unit is entirely self contained with its own WC and kitchen facilities. Telephone and broadband available.
Security
We take security very seriously, and guarantee two main benefits to deter any possibilities of theft or criminal damage. We live on the complex, so can monitor the Centre on a daily basis. We have also installed several CCTV cameras around the estate, which continuously records movements day and night.
The Future
As Chitterley Business Centre moves forward into the 21st century, the latest units are brick built, with a number of roller shutter doors to accommodate larger businesses. As we continue to improve, we will maintain how proud we are to live in the beautiful Exe Valley, and with that in mind, any future development will not detract from the astounding countryside that we are fortunate to be a part of.
